It is a year ago, so this is becoming a bit vague to me already. I used gprof
on a RS/6000 AIX machine for profiling. I remember having problems similar to
you. The way I got it to work is to provide the -pg option when compiling AND
when linking (I used a makefile since it was a multi module project). Then,
after you have runned the program as usual and ended it NORMALLY a new file
has been created in the directory where you run the program. This file should
be given as input to the gprof utility. I used I/O redirection to write the
results to a new file (gprof generated_prof_file_name >results.txt). This
works, but I noticed later that under SCO unix the report was in a different
format. The way to get to the results was however the same.
