The other irony is, if someone is picking up a show for guaranteed
audience of a certain number or percent, why start tinkering once it
is in the pipeline? If the folks behind Show A which a channel has
picked up delivered before, and are promising more stuff for a couple
more years with another show, surely they could be picked to know the
audience better than the people at the network which picked them up
for that reason.

Did the AOL takeover of Time Warner have a role in the TNT shakeup at
the time? It sure shook up a lot of other Time Warner projects.

At any rate, without TNT there would have been no Season 5, so I won't
bag on them too bad for that. They did do the Movies of the week,
too.
