I have flown the surveillance tracks out there many many times. I know how the system works. Fighters on alert most likely either Okinawa, South Korea or Misawa, Japan. Too far to be much use. Many times I was intercepted by Russian Fighters. Not a big deal at all. I would guess the RC-135 was returning to base and once the fighters got far enough away they turned around. There haven't been any NK fighter intercepts for over 30 years. That one in International waters didn't turn out too well: http://www.imjinscout.com/EC-121_Shootdown.html George --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-4* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/1.45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/1 633/267 |
