Hi Folks:
Yesterday, the Mac-1 modified Sportsmatch/Beeman two piece high mount
scope mounts arrived. Anyone with these English Sportsmatch mounts know
they are nicely crafted (fit & finish excellent....got the Korean stuff beat
in my opinion). Mac-1 puts a heavy duty, nicely-blued steel rod
connecting the two and machines a "droop" (50' in my case....my R1-Watts has
enough barrel droop that, while it can use non-drooped mounts with my
excellent Beeman 2x7 32mm M66rl scope, my recently acquired Weaver 4x16 42mm
scope hits too low....the vertical adjustments of this target/hunting scope
being of less range than the Beeman (Hakko/Optima) scope).
So, I've mounted the scope this morning and look forward to trying it
out. But IMO, the Beeman 5030H Sportsmatch two piece mounts have a nicer
appearance with the tie rod than without. The tie rod (sounds like a
kludge but looks anything but....looks very well designed and
professional....workmanship really good) has the function of giving the
forward mount the benefit of the rear mount w/scope stop....like a one piece
mount (which are high to find in high mount). Price...about $60.
Conclusion.....well built, looks very nice. Nice work Mac-1!
