I have this 29gal fresh water tank with live type plants.  I have a
    problem with the plants ...They are healthy as can be but they have
    this dark ( tanish to black ) fuzzy hairy like growth on some of the
    leaves ............. What can this be - and is a harmful - I have had
    an increase of snalls which I'm trying to get rid of (seems like when I
    buy that grass from the Fish Place ) I always seem to bring home snalls
    with the grass and ghost shrimp ...... So I guess my question is this
    ..
    1. Do I strip a healthy tank and cut the growth off the plants?
    2. How do I get rid of all those snalls?
    3. What is the growth called ... Is it a form of alge?
