I recall a post from Jerry Coffin that said it was much less efficient to 
sort a list as you build it.  I don't have the specifics, but I do have faith 
in Jerry.
 
I do have a utility program that builds a large list from a CSV spreadsheet 
and after reading it into the list, I sort is with the LL merge sort in 
Snippets.  Seems to work fine and sure is easier than writing my own.
