| subject: | `Christians don`t?` |
TR>Lets see if I can explain this in a way that will get through to you TR>on some level: TR>A `lot' of people *claim* Christianity as `their' way of life. Many TR>of them are *not* really `Christians at all. Yeah, they refuse to burn witches. TR>There are also a lot of people who *claim* to be doctors. But they TR>aren't. Oh really? Claiming means nothing. You need a DEGREE! TR>A lot of people *claim* to have done things in the military service. TR>But they didn't. Liars exist, true. TR>A lot of people *claim* to have seen things while they were in the TR>military. But they really never did see what they claim to have seen. That's only up to them and "reality". TR>Unlike the last examples.......Christianity is sometimes a social TR>`coat' which a person will take on and off at their `convenience', TR>depending on who and what they're trying to impress at the time. Like you. TR>A real good example of that would be Bill Clinton; Not really. Prez Clinton doesn't preach. TR>In the midst of his `Monica-gate' woes, when his impeachment was on TR>the verge of becoming a reality, and a Senate trial was in the TR>offing.....he suddenly does a `photo op' on the steps of a church TR>surrounded by ministers, with a bible tucked under his arm! Everyone sins. TR>You have to wonder where this bible of his was when Monica was TR>`honkin' his horn'! Where was his `Christianity' then! That's a personal thing. TR>Another real good example would be a criminal who is in prison for a TR>long sentence, who comes up before the parole board about one third TR>of the way through their sentence. TR>If the sentence is 15 years and they've done about five, it sure TR>would be nice to get out and not have to do that remaining 10 years TR>behind bars. TR>Suddenly, a few months before the parole hearing.......they `find the TR>Lord'! An amazing conversion to Christianity takes place! Is it TR>`real'? Who really knows. But it looks good to the parole board. Do TR>they `fall' for it? Sometimes they do. And a dangerous criminal is TR>let loose who saw how easy it is to pull the wool over the heads of a TR>parole board in some states! TR>Is `everyone' who *claims* to be a `Christian' really a Christian? Who cares? What if the person were a Moslem? TR>No. Any more than everyone who *claims* to be a doctor is a `real' TR>doctor. Any more than everyone who *claims* to have witnessed many TR>crashes of aircraft when they were `in' the military, really `saw' TR>any. Any more than everyone who *claims* to have worked on Warthogs TR>in the USAF, really `worked' on one. Yep...never believe any Christian!!!! I agree!
