But seriously we have TONS of the old ones around here. Those
little alloy engines take abuse like love, run forever.
They aren't that collectable, but sure are a hoot to drive.
The combo of low weight/rack and pinion gave them incredible handling.

I think it's because they are classified as "beaters". They are a ton of
fun to whip around in, unfortunatly they are also ugly as hell.
 Mine was with me for a while before I ran the engine dry of oil one day
and scrapped it. I just came to love the handling, small size
of it. I learned to hate how any frost would freeze the door locks
how the vynyl let rust creep into the roof and the heater
was a joke. The doors were the worst... If I never have to hammer down a
hatch button and crawl over seats it will be far too soon ;>
