Hi Richard,
On 22 Dec'96, you growled something about Mobile charges to Ziggy
Malter:
RM> -> I am on a corporate plan using a
RM> -> digital service and I pay $26 per
RM> -> month access fee and 32 cents peak
RM> -> rate and 16 cents off-peak rate
RM> -> per minute, and that is a flat rate from anywhere to anywhere in
RM> -> Australia, which is the size of continental USA. The regular
RM> -> consumer plans are not much more than this.
RM> Hm, not bad. I'm on a regular consumer
RM> plan in the UK (digital, of
RM> course), and I pay about $23 a month
RM> access fee, about 40 cents peak but
RM> only about 9 cents a minute off peak. Again, thats a flat rate to
RM> anywhere in the country.
RM> Oh yeah, and I get a voicemail
RM> answering service completely free as
RM> well (i.e. you don't even have to pay for the call to pick up your
RM> messages!)
Well, both your plans are great. I'm paying $16.00 per month for local
service, and .36 per minute peak and .16 min off peak. If I travel to a
"roam" area, it's .99 per minute, but with the travel pack at an
additional $3.00 per month, I only pay .55 per min, but on weekends, I
have free long distance. Because of the secrity feature, I have to let
the cellular company know when I'm leaving the local area and where I'm
headed and for how long so they can give me access. Confusing? I
thought so!!
