Searching for my mother's birth-mother.  My mother was born July 9, 1933 in 
Kansas City, MO to an un-wed mother and adopted almost immediately by Harold 
and Edith Wilson.  They chose not to tell her about her adoption until Edith 
was diagnosed with a terminal illness in 1977.  Needless to say, all adoption 
papers, etc. were destroyed long ago and I have nothing but non-identifying 
information saying she was born at Fellowes (sp?) home for un-wed mothers.
Does anyone know of a BIRTH INDEX or something that lists all births of 
babies on a particular day in a particular city?  Is there such a thing?
Meeting and developing a relationship with my mother's birth parents (if 
they're alive) is not important to my mother or myself, however, a medical 
history is very important since the diagnosis genetically carried auto-immune 
diseases has affected 3 descendants.  We would very much like to know if 
there is a family history of these type of afflictions (polymyocitis, 
rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, etc).
I would appreciate any suggestions anyone might have!
