I hope that helps. Let us know if that clears things up (like
mud!).

"David Austin" made an utterence to the drakelist gang----------------------------------------------------------------------Hi all,I have the above set-up. When set up for transceive operation using either the TX or RX VFO (i.e. anything but "separate" mode) I find that the position of the Preselect/RF Tune control on the "master" rig (be it R4C or T4XC) has to be set differently for either max power out or best receive "peaking". It seems particularly poor on 21MHz and 28MHz band i.e. when set for best RX performance it is way off peak for TX with hardly any power out at all. When set for max power, the RX is way off peak and "deaf". Ideally obviously the preselector/RF Tune control should require no or very little adjustment for peak performance on both TX and RX. Is it just a case of go! ing thru an alignment procedure on both the TX and RX or is there more to it than that? Operation in split (separate) mode is just fine, as you would expect from the above description.Any ideas? Thanks,David G4GTPP.S. Slightly off topic.....Worked quite a few stateside this morning at about 0900 UTC on our (UK) newly available extended 7MHz band, just available today (extra 100KHz to take us to 7.200). Would not normally expect to hear USA at all on 7MHz at this time of day. Is it exceptional condx or is it just that USA is usually masked under all the Euro QRM in the bottom 100KHz of the band! Do you US guys hear Europe/G stations reliably at about the same time normally on 40 meters? Anyway, quite a treat and all on the Drakes of course! ----------------------------------------------------------------------On Behalf of "David Austin" Submissions: drakelist{at}www.zerobeat.netUnsubscribe: majordomo{at}www.zerobeat.net - unsubscribe drakelist in bodyHopelessly Lost: majordomo{at}www.zerobeat.net - help in body of messageZerobeat Web Page: Brought" target="new">http://www.zerobeat.netBrought to you courtesy of TLCHost.net ----------------------------------------------------------------------http://www.tlchost.net/----------------------------------------------------------------------; Do you Yahoo!?
