     First of all people want it.  and secondly.. rockwell based modems don't
have the choice.  Rockwell makes their chipsets with all the bells and
whistles, and sells them to manufactures.  If a manufactures was to make a
modem w/o fax, they would have to actually disable the function in the chips
they get from rockwell.  There is no price difference with or with out.
