It seems that the average radio hobbyist or serious electronic
enthusiast has no alternative than to go to Radio Shack. Although I find
myself venturing to this "Electronic Superstore" to buy batteries,
connectors and the like, there is really no other place to drive to
get this stuff.
I recall Olson, Lafayette, Burstein-Appleby, and Allied Radio as some of
the choices of the 60's and 70's. Now, RS is all that's left.
Of course there are many mail-order options, but you just can't find a
place in your neighborhood unless you want to do the "Tandy Trot!"
