Gerry Calhoun Offered us all the following upon 1967 Pontiac
> RD> I have hit a few snags however :< The car is a 1967 Pontiac Tempest

>the U.S.A. they never sold a '67 Tempest with a 283 in it. I know up
>there they did put Chev engines in a few Pontiacs so maybe it is
It's an american car... and no, they didn't ;>
I have one rebuilt, chromed up and looking nice and put it in there
myself. It's a small sacriledge but hey? I can't afford to drive the big
block around! for that matter the 6 I will never replace.
I never had it to begin with and I got a 400bb in the car.

>possible. Also the OHC 6 was not a 326, the 326 was a V-8, the OHC-6
>was a 230. The 326 was a debored version of the 389.
Oh yeah! So that means someone has allready played musical chrome over
the last 29 years...
I want any chrome that has "283" on it. I want to tear off the
"V6 OHC 326" on the front now. It gets repainted in febuary
and I want to have proper chrome on it. ie 2xTempest 2x283
to put on the car. If someone gets all huffy at a show and shine I'll
just ask HIM to find me a pontiac v6 OHC ... I mean, it's not
a collecter car, it's a nice looking daily driver. as such
the 283 does fine.
... If it doesn't run, chrome it.
