Far less likely to "hack" into wifi connection (ie - sniff the data on a
wireless connection) vs, say, running something wireshark to capture
your data-in-transit on the same wired LAN that the wifi router is
connected to.

So yes, I would not necessarily want my internet access to come via a
wireless connection to a router that someone else has direct (lan)
access to.

Can the landlord place this wifi router in a secure location (locked
cabinet or closet) that the other tenant DOESN'T have access to (even if
the locked cabinet or closet is in the other tenant's appartment)?

A wifi hotspot in a commercial location (hotel, airport, etc) is far
less likely to be placed in a location where someone else has direct
physical / lan access to it vs the residential situation that is being
described here.

It sounds like the landlord is paying for internet access for two (or
more) appartments by having a single account and sharing it between
tenants.
