-> On 05 Jan 08 13:47:22, Ross Cassell got back to Daniel Prather -> Re: Big stink in Green Bay >> Separation of state and church was written into the Constitution >> for a reason. What we are now seeing is what happens when that >> portion of the Constitution is ignored. RC> Lets correct my good friend Dan here, Separation of Church and State RC> was not written into the constitution, its merely a interpretation. RC> You should know by heart verbosely the exact words that are written in RC> the constitution. You couldn't be more wrong, Ross. Notice also in the main body of the Constitution that there should be "no religious tests for political office". The First Amendment is written to insure that that clause is clear. It is there to protect the religious rights of those that are not part of the religious majority group. The Amendment assures that future laws will not be written to give members of any particular sect more rights than any other group or individual. --- OMX/Blue Wave/DOS v2.30* Origin: Soundly on the Fault Line (1:138/666.0) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 14/250 300 34/999 90/1 106/1 120/228 123/500 134/10 140/1 SEEN-BY: 222/2 226/0 249/303 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1417 1418 266/1413 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 320/119 633/260 262 267 690/734 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 SEEN-BY: 2222/700 2320/100 2905/0 @PATH: 138/666 146 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
