I am going to depart from a primary email post rule and reply to the first
post in a thread that I consider ill informed (I am being polite).

I fly/drive all over this ball (planet). Bloody nuisance by and large.
Great fun and interesting for the first 20 years or so.

The "911" thing and the subsequent hysteria was idiotic at the
Airports. The "professional" screeners repeatedly stopped me, a
50 odd year old freckled Irish male and searched my baggage by hand; next
best bet were Black females older than I, for a search.

Obvious candidates for "round up the usual suspects" walked
through, but they have to have a quota; search the blacks and whites first.

Its a great idea.

Blacks and whites are well known for their adherence to terrorism, so check
them first. Dont check any Arab ever, especially if there is an 80 year old
black or white Lady available to even up the statistics for CNN .

In fact, the airlines are no longer able to employ their own security
personnel. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is the new
government agency handling airport security, and we DO in fact have
less freedom when flying than we used to.

Even so, I say big deal. They are working to protect planes and
passengers from terrorism. They aren't digging through your luggage to
try to find out if you cheated on your taxes.
