(1)  In order of performance speed: SATA, EIDE, USB2, Firewire.

(2) From an interface standpoint; yes, and depending on the drive (WD
Raptor), yes also.

(3) Don't know, and quite frankly, not really relevant except in some real
esoteric configurations.

(4) I have no idea.
