Hi Marianne.
-
-> I'm just wandering what does DPAC stand for??
-
DPAC = my initials, I think it makes for a neat looking alias.
-
-> DC> How close are you to that area? (the Red Triangle). I knew there
-> we DC> Great Whites in that area but I did not think there were so
-> many in DC> area like that.
->
-> I'm about a 2 hour drive from that area- We are talking about the San
-> Francisco Bay area and I live in Sacramento.
-
That isn't too far at all. I would suspect that you would have a fair
number of sharks near where you live (being that close to the "Red
Triangle")
-
-> I also know that sharks are a valuable part of Marine ecosystem and
-> they belong out in the water, Not in the restaurants--Sorry, that's a
-> pet peave with me. I plan on becoming a Veterinarian and if there
-> was more of a need I think I would probably go for Marine Biology
-> instead because marine life just fascinates me so much. As a matter
-> of fact I am volunteer for a place in the Bay area which is a
-> hospital for sick and injured Marine mammals called the "Marine
-> Mammal Center" in Sausalito, Unfortunately my truck broke down for
-> quite awhile so I became inactive with the center but I really do
-> enjoy it. Funny thing you called the sharks "wolves", I've heard the
-> same expression termed for California Sea Lions, they can give you a
-> nasty bite. As a couple of volunteers have found out.
-
I agree that sharks should not be hunted. I hope all goes well with
your veterinary experiance. It is good to hear about places like the
Marine Mammal Center. It sounds like it would be a very enjoyable place
to help out marine life. I just saw a simularity in the attitudes
people have towards wolves and the attitude people have towards sharks.
-
-> Well, nice talking to you, But I do have a question for you---"How is
-> that you know so much about sharks????"
-
Well from many different sources actually. I have read a few books
about sharks, I have seen some documentrys on sharks, and I have had
discussions with some people that are very fastinated by sharks and have
done quite a bit of research about them. I am sure I am far from know
everything about them, but I do know a fair bit.
Type to you later
