Greetings Charles... I have some experience of sorts... I sell a virity of
cell services...
welp you asked about pre-paid service and I offer a virity, this is not a
commercial, just an exlpination of whats available...
One type is a pre-paid servcie... you purchase a bank of 83 minutes and pay a
small fee for activation of the cell phone... Their are no monthly fee's and
the 83 minutes must be used within a 2 month period... (or you loose the
time) the subscriber gets a local incoming number to receive calls, and every
time the phone goes on the air you get a recording stating how much time is
left on your service... Recharging the service is as simple as dropping in at
any place selling that service and purchasing another bank of 83 minutes and
re-charging the service online... I'v basically had no complaints from my
subscribers on this service... the cost is about 55 cents per minute but
consider their is no credit check, no monthly fee, so considering this it's
not such a bad deal!
Another type of pre-paid calling card service it a rechargable credit card.
The subscriber purchases a unit card, 1,2,5,10,20 or 50 units, a unit being a
1 minute local calling area call. Again their are no monthly service charges
and no credit checks and any cell phone can be used as the subscriber dials
the called party, hits the send key, and is asked to enter their credit-card
number, they are then notified of the time left and the call is connected! I
seem to like this service better, as I sell more of this than the above, and
the card is rechargable, where the subscriber need only call a 800 number to
recharge the card service to add more time... and everytime they do I get a
small percentage of what they spend! Another nicity here is free advertising
in the sence that if one takes the 1 or 2 unit card and have them constructed
with their advertising on them, they can be give-a-ways in lue of business
cards to selective subscribers, that may, in some future rage of insanity
recharge the card and one could recover the cost! and posibally make a few
pennies on the service... in any case this seems to be the best seller as it
allows a subscriber to use any cell phone, active, cloned, whatever to make
outgoing calls, and it has'nt hurt by beeper sales, as normally the
subscriber will purchase a beeper to allow them to receive "incoming calls"
Welp thats the story, if you hear of any other pre-paid cell phone deals let
me know.
TTYL regards Joel
