-> PK> Kitties, huh? I have 4. My worst problem is keeping them off the
-> PK> fabric that I have pulled out to make a quilt out of. A few weeks ago
-> PK> I pulled out solid black for a Cat Quilt that I am making. Washed
it,
-> PK> ironed it, ready to start cutting the next morning. Even thought I
-> PK> had it somewhere that the cats would leave it alone. 5:30 the next
-> PK> morning I get up to get my son up for school. I come up front to
find
-> PK> Gizmo, my long-haired black and WHITE cat lying in a nest he made of
-> PK> the black fabric.
->
-> He knew some fresh "bedding" when he smelled it! < hehehehehehe
->
Well, you should see my portable sewing mat! Anyone know how to get hairs
off of that? I don't think that it can be washed.
-> PK> White hairs are EVERYWHERE on it! To the washing machine that fabric
-> PK> went again!!! AARRGH! Yes, Gizmo still lives. He is my personal
-> PK> favorite!
->
-> No fabric shall be cut before it's time. We must make certain ALL the
sizing
-> is out you know! <
->
Sizing was definitely OUT!! Tip, if you want to wash your fabric, but want
it to still have some sizing or starch in it for applique then use one of
those
Downey balls and put liquid starch in it to the line. Works wonders!
-> PK> Bet that isn't the type combining you were talking of!! hehehe
->
-> Well it certainly worked for Gizmo! < hehehehe How is the little
darlin'
-> today???
Gizmo? HYPER!! I have all 4 of my cats so spoiled it isn't funny. Every
night I split two small cans of cat food in between them. Now since they
fight over the stuff I have them trained to go to their special spots before
they get fed. Smokey is on top of the chest freezer (where their food and
water is kept at all times), Peanut is in the floor by the freezer, Willie is
across the room on the floor by a potted plant, and Gizmo is on my Cedar
Chest. Gets so bad that I will come out of the bathroom from brushing my
teeth
and all 4 of them will be in their assigned spots waiting for me!!
Lately Gizmo has really been trying to get to any and all fabric he can
find and sleep on it. He is really starting to shed his winter fur too. I
think that this behavior (getting on fabric) is caused by the shedding!
On a more quilty note, I have all of the ear pieces done for my latest
quilt creation, "162 Cats On the Bed". Yes, that means that I had to do 162
pairs of cat ears! Just have to finish ironing them and then get started on
the bodies of the cats.
