I'm not sure if he was a legit contender. He wrestled Mike Awesome for
the title on pay-per-view, but he was the complete underdog. While
Spike came out to his "Highway To hell"-theme he put up half a dozens
tables around the ring. It was obvious that he would go through most
of them himself.
And so it happened. Of course he had his offense in the middle of the
match and put Awesome through one of the tables, but that was his
biggest success in this match as far as I remember it.
