This is the West, which went to war against the oppressive Taliban 
in Afghanistan because, among other things, they destroyed historical
stone images of Buddha. (Those big ones in the rocks). I don't see much
difference between banning buddhas or banks (piggies, that is), but
that is how taboos probably come about ... don't go there or do that,
it is taboo!!!
