| subject: | Re: Christians And Jews |
Hello Jeff, JS>As I said in my previous post, and I reiterate, while Jews, Christians and JS>Muslims may believe in one God, if we carefully examine their body of belief JS>particularly as they pertain to the nature and mission of Jesus Christ, it i JS>obvious to see that they cannot be worshiping the same God, that is, the JS>Christian God. God simply will not contradict Himself by stating that, yes, JS>has a Son who died for the sins of the world, and then turn around and say JS>that He has no Son, as both Jews and Muslims proclaim. As you already know, JS>the Jews outright reject Christ, while Muslims only accept Him as a prophet, JS>and no more. Jews are Jews. Christians are Christians. Muslims are Muslims. If Jews were Christians, they would not be Jews. If Muslims were Christians, they would not be Muslims. Starting to get the picture? JS>My spiritual brothers and sisters are only those who accept the atoning JS>Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. What you propose sounds more like a One World JS>Religion where we can all be one big happy family...just as long as we JS>reject the Divine Nature and Mission of Jesus Christ. Jesus was both human and divine. JS>This I will never accept. To say Jesus was strictly human would be heretical. To say Jesus was strictly divine would be heretical. But only if one is a Christian. JS>Ecumenism is dangerous business. So is racing cars or motorcycles. >LL>Muslims refer to God as Allah. So do many Christians. Although Muslims >LL>not accept Jesus (whom they call Isa) as Messiah, it is not an absolute >LL>rejection. By their understanding, we are all "sons of God" rather than >LL>any single individual being the "Son of God." JS>The >LL>Christian God clearly JS>Lee, again, you have been misled. In what way? JS>True Bible-believing Christians do not refer to God as Allah... My late aunt was a "true Bible-believing Christian" who referred to God as Allah. In fact, she prayed to Allah. Every day. Probably went to heaven. Can't say for sure, since she had a nasty habit of cheating at cards. But there is always hope. JS>only Muslims and some Arab Christians do. Did anybody ever tell you that Jesus was a Palestinian? Well, it's true. His mother was also a Palestinian. And his father. Well, stepfather. Along with all the Apostles. And pretty much everybody he met. Except for a few Roman soldiers and the like. JS>Allah is not my God, and never will be. You reject God the Father? What heresy! :) JS>Again, I am fully aware of Muslim beliefs regarding the nature of JS>Jesus Christ. I have studied the Qur'an, and written about it well. I have Muslim friends, and share meals with them from time to time. Learned quite a lot from them. And still do. It is not enough to simply read the Qur'an, or study the Qur'an. In order to understand Islam, it is necessary to experience Islam for what it is. That does not mean one has to convert to Islam in order to understand it. But it does help to have Muslim friends and learn from what they have to say and share. Through such contact Muslims also learn about Christians and Christianity. And that makes for a better world for all. --Lee * SLMR 2.1a * "Give yourself over to absolute pleasure."-Frank'N'Furter --- Maximus 3.01* Origin: Xaragmata / Adelaide SA telnet://xaragmata.thebbs.org (3:800/432) SEEN-BY: 261/38 633/260 267 285 712/848 800/7 432 896 @PATH: 800/432 633/260 267 |
