I have used both knode with kde and pan.  For my use the best of these is
pan.  The current stable version is very old, but there is a devel version
in active development and close to a release.  It is currently 0.105.  I
build everything from source, so I am not sure what binary releases are
available for this devel version, but you can look at
http://pan.rebelbase.com
