My Internet-Provider offers me a mail-only-account (email/news - no
www-surfing!) for just sfr. 95.--/year. Our fidonet club want for the same
sfr. 120.-- with only a tenth of the capacity. Why I should pay for useless
amateur work? Better take the professional line! That means not, I don't want
pay for fidonet. But I will pay a "market price". So, in my opinions it is,
that our region Gateway not must call to america or australia. My provider is
online anyway. Walrus shows me, that that way is more efficient.
Count the nodes in zone 2. There are possible more in Germany as in the hole
zone 1 segment. That's because USA got Compuserve, AOL etc. before in Europe
the public was informed that telecommunication is possible via PC. So they
got fidonet only!
I got a bbs since 7 years. Still seven years before I can get a internet
account. Nobody was interesting in that "stupid" Unix stuff. We gated som
newsgroups and earnded protests from fido users about the "header pollution".
Now every shitty fido program is using kludges and a fido message is as such
long as a internt message. 1 line text = 10 lines header.

be happy :-)

For me is MEADOW a bit more than configurating Opus.
It's a life - even without Opus :-)
