Does by the book step by step working really expand your horizon? ;)

If you really want to learn linux, i recommend to read something like the
file hirachical standard, the right management system and a shell tutorial
to get used with the basics.

To learn with husky software, you could get the full husky tree with (do
that in an empty directory)

cvs -z9 -d:pserver:anonymous{at}husky.cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/husky co .

Years ago it was the huskybse directory with the base information how to
handle the sequence of compiling the husky modules. Look for capitalized
INSTALL files.
