Hello Richard!

Replying to a message of Richard Webb to Shawn Highfield:

RW> then she started making serious noises so I backed away. First, she
RW> had a kid still of elementary school age, and i wasn't interested in
RW> anything to do with raising kids. I was totally into the stereotype
RW> musician's lifestyle at the time.

I've been there and done that twice. :) You'd think I'd have learned but
even now I haven't, and would probably re-live my youth one more time if
the right offer came around. ;)

RW> My second wife sang with my band for awhile, but I don't mix romance
RW> and professional music organizations anymore. AS soon as I show up
RW> and find that even the sound person is a musician's significant other
 RW> I cringe.

I cringe on that as well. Not to mention Andrea and I are currently in different
bands, but we still work together on our project when we get gigs. (Basically
we just all show up at a show, play get paid and that's the extent of that band
now).

She's younger then I am so is still convinced she can "make
it", where I've given
up and just want to play the odd show here and there now. I can't take it as
seriously due to horribile pain in my left hand now, so I pop my advil play the show
and then have a couple drinks afterwards to put the fire out.

RW> I find either the musical activities get in the way of the love life,
RW> or the love life does not good things to the musical organization.

Never does. I've had my share of breakups because the band was more
important then the girl. :)
