Re: Foods not so good for Dogs By: George Pope to Mike Roberts on Fri Oct 14 2005 08:22 am > I tested this theory with even raw onions & salads, and he wolfed it all > down!) Hi George! I am sure this is true, I didn't make up the list. I will also say, that I am not sure any of the foods on the list are suggesting Instant Death or illness. I do know, like with onions, it builds up a toxicity in the blood. The more onions the more toxicity, as time goes on. Same as most natural diets for dogs call for raw eggs, yet raw eggs were on that list. My old newfie lived on the raw diet as a puppy and ate tomatoes all his life. His life expectancy when he died was twice that of a normal Newf. So go figure.. I think it is like the way they used to tell us how great Bran muffins were for all of us or something along those lines, and then found out eating bran muffins didn't matter a whole hill of beans or that Eating eggs in the normal person will cause your Cholesterol to go sky high. Now they found that doesn't happen. Anyone can do what they want. In my case, I take the list with a grain of salt, I also would not go out of my way to feed that stuff on the list to my dog either. But unfortuneatly our dogs get more than they should of treats as it is 8-) Our Pug shows it! 8-) Have a Good One!
