I'm very curious about this. Where have you been on charters where they
didn't ask? (Not specifically, just what state or province). In the
southern U.S., most dive operators are scared to death of lawsuits, so they
protect themselves by requiring their passengers to flash the card before
allowing them a spot on board. I *know* this to be a fact for North Carolina
wreck diving, and it's been my experience everywhere I've been in Florida as
well. I have been to a few places in the Caribbean that didn't, but I guess
they felt pretty much out of the reach of greedy lawyers.

Never bothered me any....I'm damned proud of mine.

Absolutely none. The thinking is that kids need to know just as much about
what they're doing as adults. The whole point of the junior card is to try
to hold them back until they (hopefully) develop some judgement as well. All
young men believe that they are immune to the hazards of life.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm too old to splash around in the ice cubes any
more. If Queen Angelfish won't swim there, neither will Jay.
