All Rhodes lead to TNA

By Don Callis

There has been a lot of news this week, so I thought we would go with
the popular newswire format to get all caught up ... Dustin Rhodes
debuted for NWA TNA this past week as a surprise opponent for world
champion Jeff Jarrett. Dustin is a tremendous wrestler and his father
Dusty has been a feature on several TNA pay-per-view broadcasts ...
Randy Savage's rap single Be a Man, which was a personal challenge to
Hulk Hogan, is now being used as part of a video package for TNA ...

I received several e-mails this past week after my last column on the
similarities between the U.S. Democratic nomination race and pro
wrestling. One irate fan e-mailed me taking me to task over my
reference to Madonna and Michael Moore as "B-list celebs." OK, let's
be honest -- Madonna is now famous for being famous. Her last album
was a flop matched only by her forays into being an actress and
Michael Moore is beating the same old drum he has been beating for
years. I dare him to make a movie about something other than the
common guy being screwed over by big business and special interests
..

There was an early match of the year candidate taped at the last TNA
show in the Americas X cup, featuring four AAA wrestlers from Mexico
vs. four TNA stars. Make sure you get to check it out ... Insane Clown
Posse have made quite an impact on TNA as well, bringing a phalanx of
Juggalos with them to the events. The Juggalos are very vocal and fun
to have in the building ... Apparently Vampiro is now working in
Puerto Rico ...

Terry Funk also debuted for TNA this past week ... Lots of talk
regarding the booking of the Chris Benoit angle on WWE. Some have
wondered how it looks for the WWE Smackdown title to have Benoit
presumably preferring to use his Royal Rumble win to challenge for
Triple H's Raw title instead of Brock Lesnar's version. To me this is
quite a moot point, as there has always been more focus on the Raw
title, although few could argue that Lesnar is the more believable
world champion ...

Look for a possible Eddie Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle match at
Wrestlemania ... Tony Condello begins his famed Death Tour of Northern
Manitoba this month, so several brave lads will be getting the
experience of a life time and get to hang out with Tony, which is well
worth it on its own ... Joe Aiello is away this week, but we plan lots
of fun and games this week on NHB Radio, broadcasting live from
Garbonzos from 6-7 p.m. on 92 CITI-FM ... NHB and TNA superstar Shane
Douglas has been looking great the past few weeks, after training very
hard to get into prime ring shape ... Still no sign of Raven, who is
on some sort of sabbatical from TNA ... If you want to train to be a
wrestler, manager, valet, announcer, referee or writer, e-mail us at
NHBwrestling{at}shaw.ca for details.
