It truly is sad the way the Christian faith has been commercialized during the
past 2,000 years. Nothing has changed since Jesus ransacked the temple courts
with a whip in righteous indignation. Yet, in spite of that event, so many
preachers of the Word of God have been enticed by filthy lucre -- preaching
for personal financial gain. As the Bible warns us:

"Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre;
but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; . . . Likewise
must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to
much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;"
1 Timothy 3:3, 8, KJV

"For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not
selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker,
not given to filthy lucre; . . . Whose mouths must be
stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which
they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake."
