Really?

My non-POTS ISP quit carrying Usenet about a year ago.  Way back when, I
actually had a POTS UUCP connection with them and ran my own node.  The
"more-local" ISP that offers the broadband connections never carried Usenet.

Here in the US, if you want a text-only usenet source, a BBS is probably
the easiest way to find one.
