Your Windows 2000(?) box does seem to have some weird problem. It looks
like there might be a bug where it gets confused by the TCP window scaling
option. Maybe you should disable it.

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
Tcp1323Opts : DWORD : 0 (disable timestamps and window scaling)

(1323 = RFC 1323 options)

One day (when I have finished sorting my sock drawer), I will put
a W2000 and a Linux box on each side of a router, then investigate this
issue some more. At the moment, it looks like a W2000 bug to me.
