I have been hanging in the background for a while. I rarely post. The
male blue ringneck is for a fellow breeder. He is having such a tough
time finding a mate for his female, he was thinking of selling her. I
will have to check and see if he still has her. I assume he wants a
blue male and not a split.
I am not familiar with the Dog House Echo. I get this parrots
echo thru Utopia Tech and there are so-o-o many to pick from!
New York States allows the sale of captive raised birds marked with a
seamless leg band placed on the bird at birth. Any birds not close
banded need a proof of possession statement and a permit by the DEC.
I only buy close banded birds regardless of whether or not it is exempt.
It saves alot of questions and helps me keep track.
In New York State, the following birds are exempt and may be sold at
anytime without regulation: Canary and all varieties, Budgerigars,
Cockatiels and all mutations, Zebra finch, Bengalese(society)finch,
Diamond Doves, Java sparrow, Blue masked lovebird, crimson rosella,
eastern rosella, Pale-headed(blue)rosella, Red rumped parrot and all
mutations, Bourke's parrot. With laws getting tougher, I only buy close
banded birds even if they are exempt. I have an interesting story about
me, my local paper, and close banded birds, but will save it for another
time.
I would like to hear about the laws in other states regarding breeding,
selling or keeping exotic birds.
