Compiler
Hi Mark,

The only C++ compiler I know of that will compile an OS/2 executable while
hosted on a DOS system is Watcom. It also produces better object code than
the GNU compiler [at least better than EMX 0.9b].
The Watcom compiler does not have any nexus between the host system and the
target system. I compile OS/2 executables under NT; DOS, Win16 and NT
executables under OS/2; etc., etc. The compiler doesn't care.
The only drawback about using Watcom under DOS is that there is no DOS-based
IDE for Watcom. It needs Windows or OS/2 PM for its IDE. However, you can
use make files and wmake.exe (Watcom's make utility) to compile and link
your code under DOS.
Regards
Dave
