I'm also a realist, namely I know that dragons are a charming, (and not
so charming) fantasy, that very well could be just something somebody
made up.
Why do I like dragons?
Even you have to admit, dragons are cool.
Ever see the movie "Dragonheart?" Did you like it?
Or "Dragonslayer?" or other movies with dragons in them?
Did you enjoy reading "The Hobbit," with Smaug?
About 10 years ago, I ran across a video game that let me actually
control a dragon.
(He was changed in color from green to purple, because green blended in
with grassy landscapes.)

I thought it was cool, and I enjoy it.
The games have improved incredibly, in voice work, graphics and story in
10 years.
The latest one is literally like an epic motion picture.
Only I get to control the main characters.
Not just watch them.

(Those are clips from the game, and music from the game.)
The big difference is I know what is absurd and what is not.
George Washington was a real person.
However, absurd stories about him were simply made up.
Like the famous painting of Washington crossing the Delaware.
People actually believe he stood so proudly in that boat, leading his
troops.
Washington was tall, and heavier than many of the men.
If he had stood up like that he would have fell in.
But the romantic fiction has become almost religiously followed.
But he had a streak of corruption in him.
He used his position as a surveyer, to benefit his friends.
Court records about this are in the National Archives.
Also, when Washington had his first term as President, he said he didn't
want a salary, but could he bill the government for expenses.
Those expenses turned out to be 10 times what his salry would have been.
Congress said no to this for his second term.
And the story about the cherry tree was concocted by a phony bishop.
Now all this about a real person.
No supernatural involvements.
So what about people who claim to either have either supernatural
powers, or to have contact with supernatural beings?
If Barack Obama caimed to have heard God talking to him, would you
believe him?
Would you believe George Bush?
Or would you do like I do, for people like that, wonder if they need
medications?
So why should I, or anyone else not think Joseph Smith was either a con
man or nuts?
Same for Muhammed?
