On 05/04/09, Jeff Snyder quoted Lee Lofaso: Dr. Seuss.

LL> I've been reading through "The Parables of Dr. Seuss", by
Robert Short.
LL> Short is a retired Presbyterian minister in Little Rock, Arkansas, who also
LL> wrote "The Gospel According to Peanuts" - which I also have on my
LL> bookshelf.
LL>
LL> Ted Geisel was the author of the Dr. Seuss books, a collection of
LL> children's stories. Short's contention is that all of those stories
LL> contain elements of Christian thought, and that Geisel deliberately wrote
LL> those stories with that in mind.
LL>
LL> The Christian message can be found in many places, far and wide, including
LL> in the arts. Short kind of takes things a bit farther in a book I have yet
LL> to read, "The Gospel According to Dogs: What Our Four-Legged Saints Can
LL> Teach Us". But it makes sense. Jesus made reference, many times, to
LL> nature and wildlife. He did so to make a point, to reveal a religious
LL> truth.

Lee, the foundation for this echo is the Holy Bible, preferably the Authorized
King James Version of the Holy Bible. All topics should center around the
Bible, and NOT around "Dr. Seuss", or the writings of other
worldly authors. I
am not interested in "The Gospel According to Peanuts", "The
Gospel According
To Dogs", or any other such nonsense, even if they do contain vague Christian
elements. In this echo, we use the Bible to validate our statements, as it is
the inspired and authoritative Word of God. According to the rules of this
echo, if you wish to make a point, then you must validate it by quoting
directly from the Scriptures. This practice not only inspires faith in God's
Word, but it also protects us from excessive error in our understanding.

LL> Dr. Seuss presented a very positive message. So did Jesus. The other
LL> commonality between the message of Dr. Seuss and Jesus is that Dr. Seuss
LL> did not believe in eternal damnation.

Lee, now you are outright preaching a false gospel, and it will not be
toleratedtolerated here. Jesus most certainly did preach Eternal Damnation,
and it can
be clearly read in the pages of the New Testament, which is the foundation of
our Christian faith, and NOT the nonsensical writings of Dr. Seuss. Please
consider the following Biblical truths, all spoken by Jesus:

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth
not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."
John 3:36, KJV

"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul:
but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
Matthew 10:28, KJV

"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the
lake of fire."
Revelation 20:15, KJV

The truth is as plain as day in those verses without any need for personal
interpretation.

Again, drop the Dr. Seuss nonsense immediately. This is your second warning.
