I have in a tank of 200 litres (40 gallon i think) 1 oscar, 2 botia and 1
aequidens pulcher.
Last week i have bought 4 plecostomus: 3 have been eated from oscar, the
fourth has been inserted in his mouth!!! After many troubles i succeeded in
freeing himself from the fish. Two days later by reason of the stress due to
capture, oscar devoleped ich and after have trasmitted to the other fishes.
So i'm in accord that stress is the first cause of ich like other desease.
I have treated the disease increasing temp to 28 C (i don't know in F)and
adding Sera costawert (i think methilene blu) 1 times every 2 days for 6
ays.
Sorry for my poor english.
Ciao.
Luca DVM.
Many greetings from Luca Lopinto, Italy's silly vet of the net!
