Hi Wendy,
RH> guy's reaction was "Gee, my wife never made anything geeky like that
RH> for me."
WB> Hahaha! I think that fabric is sooo neat! Maybe I could do a
WB> pc cover for Tom with it. Hmmmmm...his birthday's in March!
Go for it! When Commodore 64s were popular, I had a small business
making covers for them. We still have a few floating around; we had a
mixed up assortment of mid weight fabrics. Steve helped Rachel's Girl
Scout troop earn the computer merit badge so they gave him one too which
I sewed onto his keyboard cover.
RH> Sounds like your puppy really enjoyed the toy ball. Maybe you should
RH> have done it with kevelar (used in body armor, military helmets, etc);
WB> Hahaha, that might have helped it last a few more minutes.
WB> Puppy teeth are sure sharp!
I know, my rocking chair still has the marks on the rungs that the pup
we had 15 years ago used for teething.
RH> the civilian issue ones so now he has glasses for closeup, distance,
RH> etc plus military issue bifocals.
WB> Oh dear! Poor man will be so confused, he won't know which pair
WB> to put on!
On top of that, the post optical shop accidentally ordered doubles of
all his military issue ones and told him to keep them since they were no
cost. I have a hard time keeping track of what he has where.
RH> come home from OKC; she had a great time! Mike got me a Precious
RH> Moments "Sew in love" mini plate. Picked Deborah up in Phoenix on the
RH> 30th and (finally) got to meet Nancy Brassea and Donna Ransdell.
WB> Neat! It sounds like you had a great one. Those quiet ones
It was good; and I wrote to Donna the other day that I'm working on some
shirts she saw swatches of. Nice to be able to put a better picture in
yur mind when you read of certain projects.
WB> are the best. I don't blame Deborah! hehe, when your sweetie
WB> is there and you're here...it's not much fun. Tom and I did it
WB> for months but Ma Bell was the real beneficiary!
She's on the phone even as we speak! Steve and I ran up phone bills but
not like these two! Actually, they use calling cards a lot which save
on parent's bills.
RH> month and get the car fixed; someone ran into them last week.
WB> I hope they are OK. A car you can replace; a body you can't!
They were all ok. Car had quite a bit of damage but it is repairable.
WB> Tom and Pat feel the same way. I like to grow tomatoes in some
WB> containers on the patio so I don't have a big patch to weed, and
WB> the slugs can't get into those tall containers so easily. We have
We just used a narrow strip in our enclosed patio; here we have to worry
about wildlife eating the plants if they're not enclosed.
RH> I'm going to do quilt tops. Have a Double Wedding Ring set to sew up,
RH> then, enough scraps to do several scrappy tops. Will probably do a
RH> Victorian crazy top with all my "fancy" stuff-satin, velours, taffetas,
WB> It sounds like you will have plenty to do. I like those crazy
WB> quilts done with the fancies. They are so pretty! Of course
Actually, I'm going to put those on hold (again) but for a good reason.
I had put in an order from Nancy's Notions and it came in last week.
There was a flyer for the sewing challenge; I'm strongly thinking of
entering it this year.
WB> We aren't fancy folks. Our furniture is almost dead, and we need
WB> new carpeting. We LIVE in our living room; it isn't pretty, what
WB> we do to a room. But that's the way we are.
Well, we have old furniture that's seen better days too but right now,
the best thing about it is is that it's paid for. Our living room is
the most used room; what was Rachel's bedroom is now a sort of
office/sewing room for me. Sewing machine and serger on one wall,
computer on another so I can go from one job to another. (G)
Catch you later,
Ruth
