Hi Robby!!!
Robby Dittmann scratched the following in a message to Mark Ruhland:
RD> You should be able to use MECCA tokens to do that. Try this in your
RD> Newuser.Mec:
RD> [b9600][goto fast]
RD> [setpriv slow]
RD> [/fast]
Hmmmm, thanks!!! Yet, I do have a question, I have *ONE* caller who I already
have at sysop level because she's our NEC (but is running an Apple IIe with a
2400) and I don't want to mess around with her time... Just others who call
in at 2400... Make sense???
RD> This should detect whether or not the user is at 9600 baud or more.
OK, I *think* I understand;-)
RD> If they are then it skips down. If they are less than 9600 then it
RD> sets their priveledge level to "slow". You'll just need to define
RD> "slow" as the appropriate priveledge level.
The one caller I that calls in at 2400, I've already changed his access to
Limited, so if I understand you correctly, all I need to do is define that
privilege level for 2400 calls with the one exception of our NEC, correct, OR
will it do it to ALL 2400 caller regardless??? THAT is something I *DON'T*
want... Cuz I want our NEC to stay at Sysop level access so she can do what
she needs to do...
RD> ANother alternative would be to place thos elines in your logon Mec,
RD> and you could have your logoff Mec check and reset to Normal. That
RD> way it chekcs on each call, so if they call back later with a faster
RD> modem, they don't still get the extra time.
Sorry Robby, but ya lost me with your last paragraph:-(
Thanks!!!
Mark,
