The whole idea of creating the modern state of Israel was based on
Zionism, which is a *political* concept, not a religious concept.

Throughout history, most Kings ruled by Divine Right.  In other words,
they were ordained by God.  And the people believed them.  The
foundation of this Divine Right was said to have originated in the
Holy Bible, which is why anybody who questioned the wisdom of the King
would most likely lose his/her head.

The Bible (whether the Jewish version or the Christian version) is
not about political truth, but rather religious truth.  Democracy is
a political concept, not a religious concept.  However, politicians
will always seek to use the Bible to keep the rabble in line.  After
all, the rabble are so gullible.  Kind of like sheep.
