It is generally thought to be the inferior because the driving force behind the Skylark series is a lot of made-up physics that no one today can take seriously, and the plot has no real direction beyond, "Dick Seaton has another adventure", whereas the driving force behind the Lensmen series is artificial psionics (which may not really exist, but at least we can't say, "This is wrong!"), and there is one overarching plot. -- John W.
