subject: Amazons, What Else?

My source is Howard Voren. I just bought a Blue Front from
him. I would love more details on the following subs. Which two subs
dont you know and can you give me details on the subs you do know?
According to him there are 5 subs:
1. Intermediate- a mix of subspecies. If the parents are
different subs but both parents are Yellow Napes then the
resulting babies cannot really be considered hybrids so Howard Voren
decided to call this mix of subs-Intermediates.
2. Caribe- pardon my spelling.
3. Hondurans
4. Auropaliata-Photo on cover of BirdBreeder mag, June 1995 issue.
                photo taken by Howard Voren.
5. Parvipes-smallest?
This is all the info that I have managed to get out of Howard
Voren. During the course of my conversation with him, we hit
many topics. Talking to him was like being able to see for
the first time. He said that he would eventually get around
to doing an article on the subs of YN Amazons. Never did
finish the conversation with him. I intend to call or write
to him to get more details as soon as my baby handfeeding days
are done and my phone bill recovers.
My spelling is very poor and the subs are spelled
phonetically(fanatically?). My first bird is a YN that I bought
at the age of 6 mos in 1978. I still have her. She is the cause
of my resulting birdie fever. I also have one pair of Yellow
Napes(mature), one pair of m/f Blue Fronted Amazon babies
(10weeks old & 5 mos old), budgies, cockatiels & Gouldian
finches. A little bit of everything. I have been learning on the small
birds in hopes of graduating to one or two pairs of amazons. Figured if
I mess up on a parakeet, it wont be as tough as messing up on a big
bird. Congrats on your mealy, I have not even got that far with my
mature pair of YN's, Pokey & Oliver. She looks very preggers, lots of
bad attitude on her part, and lots of wood splinters floating in the
water dish. Getting very tricky feeding them.
