-=> Quoting Paul Andinach to Fred Austin <=-
FA> As I have said before, some credible
FA> people have investigated, have went after these events, have gone in as
FA> skeptics, and have come out with a different viewpoint.
PA> They believe the evidence is sufficient.
PA> I don't, and that is my decision to make.
Well Paul, you can quote in circles, it does come back to who you feel
is credible. And as I have said before, that is why I said there is no one
credible enough on this planet, those sweeping statements, or post a list of
who you consider credible people. Leave out politicians.....
FA> So skeptics, believers, all are in the dark. That is the most likely
FA> current situation.
PA> On what do you base your statement that that is the most likely
PA> current situation?
Are we. Since everything is not credible, people are mistaken, all data
is most likely false, are you going to suggest the opposite. Or are you
just dealing in an exercise in debating...
FA> At least on
FA> the pro side we can still take a person as being reasonably credible,
FA> in other words if Bill the guy next door says "hey, I saw something
FA> odd last night" we will at least listen. You guys on the other hand
FA> believe in no one.
PA> If the guy next door chose to tell me that he saw something odd
PA> last night, I would listen. But "something odd" is not necessarily an
PA> alien spaceship full of little grey men.
Ok, fair enough. So then he tells you he saw a damned alien ship etc,
with little guys etc, in some field somewhere or in his backyard. Now what
do you do? Ah, move.....
FA> But then the world has long ago displayed the symptoms of
FA> people not listening to people. A sad reality. But fact.
FA> Otherwise the world wouldn't be the place it is today.
PA> Quite possibly true. But not necessarily relevant to UFOs.
Well whether its UFO's or the guy next door practicing satanic rituals,
what's the diff....
FA> So if it is all delusion you can at least take solace in the fact
FA> that your rational world is decaying, the 10,000 fools are multiplying
FA> like jack rabbits, either way, alien or delusional, its not a pretty
FA> picture......
PA> It is possible for perfectly sane, rational people to make
PA> mistakes, see things that aren't there, and remember things that never
PA> happened.
Better watch out for the logic, because you are now heading for the
question of how sane are you really, a serial killer will tell you right to
your face, he thinks there is nothing wrong with what he does, he feels he
is perfectly sane. To tell the truth I know no one who is "sane" that ever
saw something that wasn't there. Unless under the influence of some
narcotic. So you are subscribing to the theory that 10,000 people are
mistaken. A weak theory. But it is all yours. I will take the other
side, I will give it that perhaps 3 or 4 of the above 10,000, are not
delusional. You are giving me 10,000 to 1 odds. I hope you are right.....
Happy Trails,
Fred.
