Derek,
Again referring to my time we had space for a web survey internally
to the class but not externally to the world. She stated she had
completed two research papers, that she was working her BA and
eventually her masters using this as her area of interest. Short of
having her provide a photo id, her school id, and a signed affidavit
from someone in position to do so; by the way we would probably then
question their credentials too, so where does it end?
The bottom line I was in the same situation send survey requests to
people and I understand where she is coming from on this. If a person
feels it is not up-an-up then do not participate - always your choice,
but to come out make the types of innuendoes and accusations we have
made is poor manners and taste. Some of the remarks would even verge on
slander in most places.
Are we so afraid our information is going to be given away - I hope
not as it has been out of the barn for years. The insurance companies,
care givers, hospitals, government and even us as individuals have
completed the process a long time ago. There is very little for us to
hide from those who wish to find it as it is available to the world.
