For my workstations with audio, I USED to use the Kensington Expert
Mouse/Trackball (4 button ones). Very easy to roll with any part of the
hand, fingers, thumbs. The 4 buttons allow me to program different things
for the extra 2 buttons, that really speeds up audio editing. Now though,
I've gone to a wireless keyboard/mouse combination, that also is a Gyro/Air
mouse. There a "trigger" under the mouse (the hand wraps nicely
around it when holding it in the air, and when the trigger is depressed,
you can move the cursor with just a bend of the wrist (arm movement doesn't
do it, movement at the wrist moves it). Quite nice to use while leaning
back to listen. It's got about a 30 foot range, too.

I just recently added the KaVoom KVM switch, that allows me to use ONE
mouse/keyboard across both systems. As I move the mouse across from one
screen pair to the other, the keyboard and mouse events follow to the other
computer. All this over the lan connection, and with 4 monitors. I'm
really pleased with how that all works. The keyboard, is about the size of
a laptop keyboard, so switching back and forth during the day from the
workstations to the laptop has gotten really easy.
