Hi Vicki,
GP> Hi Ruth---always god to hear from ya. You sound like you really keep
GP> busy doing all that you do---I do too but I enjoy it so it doesn't
Business goes in fits and spurts; most of the time I can set my own
hours too. I do keep busy, yes, but there's a lot of time I can call my
own too.
GP> I don't know of anyone that buys Commodores--Gil is given tons of them
GP> and a few rare ones he has purchased but don't know of any outlets.
I'd heard once that 3rd World countries use the older technology but
that was years ago. Wish someone would take these off our hands.
GP> yet I started out typing on a manual typewriter with carbon copies...
GP> now there are printers hooked up to computers that cut everything in
GP> half (or less). Love that.
I'm younger than you but started the same way. Now I do almost all of
my writing on the computer; partly to save my wrists, partly to make it
readable quickly.
GP> Don't know what all I'll grow this year------------colored cottons for
GP> sure, herbs (as our land was on fire when we drove home from Tulsa on
GP> New Year's day, and we lost the herb beds and the strawberry patch).
Bummer! But, herbs regrow quickly. The colored cotton sounds
interesting; I've read a bit about it. I hadn't realised that Pima
cotton was from here in AZ, Pima county, till I moved here.
GP> Frown. Guess the hunters set the land we own behind us on fire to
GP> flush out deer--don't know how it happened. So, I'll replant those
GP> items plus veggies. Our fruit orchard didn't get burned--that's a
 GP> blessing.
Could you prosicute if you know who did it? But, good thing the damage
was as contained as it was; you could have lost everything.
GP> Your daughter's wedding dress must have been pretty and how NEAT that
GP> you made it and will hand it down. Love heirlooms.
It was pretty in it's simplicity of design; we didn't put on the lace it
called for and I think that made it outstanding. I would like to do
Deborah's too, in time, but will wait to see what the future brings.
Rachel had a garter (for keeping) made from lace that was on a flower
basket we got when she was born and she had a lace applique from my
dress sewn on the inside of her's.
Catch you later,
Ruth
