subject: Diamond Pet Food Alert

Hi, Mike...

MR>I dunno, the last few days around here, the News stated that they new
MR>beforehand that the grain used on the food was tainted, but used it anyway.
MR>Kinda like, Once we got caught, we fessed up to it, but not so sure they wer
MR>unaware of ingredients not being up to par to begin with.

The damage has been done, though.

MR>Just curious. There are not a ton of people in here, but I thought I would
MR>ask. Diamond was one of the brands I would always consider for my Dogs, but
MR>stayed with another brand. If you already fed your dogs Iams, do you still
MR>continue after this? Or If you in the future were to change pet foods, would
MR>Diamond be an option for you. Or do you think they may have aome rough times
MR>ahead, ala Firestone tires and The ford Explorer.

Our previous weenie dog, Fritz, was on Beneful. Sadly, we had to have
Fritz humanely euthanized last August, because of declining health. We
have a new weenie dog, Slinky, and he's eating the Beneful Puppy food.
The little sucker is up to 13 pounds, 2 1/2 feet long, and he's not even
5 months old yet!! He also has a heck of a BARK! :) Pictures of Fritz
and Slinky are at www.wx1der.com/dog.htm -- I've been trying to become
part of a Dachshund webring, but never got a reply from the supposed
webmaster. Fritz HATED Science Diet...but loved Beneful. It reminds me
of the joke where one guy tells one of his friends that "he fed his dog
turnip greens". The friend exclaims "my dogs wouldn't touch
those!!"...to which came the reply "mine wouldn't either...until after
the first 2 weeks"!!

BTW, for folks that LOVE dachshunds, I found a website with a BUNCH of
novelties, Dachshund Treasures (www.dachshundtreasures.com). I had done
a Google search for weenie dog mouse pads...and found their site. I was
only expecting to purchase just the mouse pads...but, ended up spending
close to $100!! It's like every time my wife and I go in the local
grocery store...we say "we're not getting that much"...but, we end up
royally lying to ourselves...witness the full shopping cart!!
