Here in the US, we have many Federal, State, and Local agencies responsible
for testing water, and regulating clean, and safe water. Anyone who wants to
know anything about anything at all concerning the Environment...has the
right to go to the offices of these agencies and ask to see maps, records,
results, etc. I recently visited The D.E.P. (Department of Environmental
Protection) In Hartford, CT. They made many documents available to me. (I
needed a water quality map for Connecticut for a research paper I'm writing)
They were very helpful.
Test Kits are widely available at just about any store.
As for the De-humidifier water....Personally, I wouldn't use that...I
wouldn't worry about particulate matter so much..if the particulate matter
that's in the air inside your house is not harming your health, and also not
settling into the aquarium thru the air, then why would it be in the water
from the de-humidifier? I would worry more about grease or metals ending up
in the water rfrom the machine itself.
